In the late 1980s and early 1990s, Holy Cross Catholic Church in The Colony considered opening a Catholic school. After much study and analysis, we realized the Catholic population was not yet large enough to support a school. But in late 2009, parish leadership revisited the idea, asking Meitler and Associates to conduct a feasibility study on our behalf. The results showed that not only did the population of this area now support a Catholic school – it needed one.
The decision was made to open Holy Cross Catholic School in August 2012. A building at 303 King Road was purchased and remodeled to serve as our first location. In February of 2015, Bishop Olson opened St. Martin de Porres Parish to be located in Prosper, TX. Holy Cross Catholic School became part of the new parish and officially changed its name on July 1, 2015.
The new campus for St. Martin de Porres Catholic School and Parish was built at 4000 W. University Dr, Prosper, TX. The community moved into the new facility on November 3, 2017.
